One third - 33%, to be exact - of Latvian residents would like to live in a Western country, according to a survey conducted by SKDS pollster, reported BNS Wednesday.

About 63% of respondents, asked whether they would go and live in any of the Western countries if there was a chance to do so, said they wouldn't want to do it, while a further 5% found it difficult to answer the question.

The number is smaller than a year ago. A similar survey from 2014 showed 40% of Latvian respondents wanted to go to live in a Western country, 57% said no, while the rest were not able to answer the question.
