The talks involved discussions about tourism charter flights and cargo flights.
The meeting took place during State Secretary for the Transport Ministry, Kaspars Ozoliņs' visit to Seoul for the ASEM Symposium on Eurasia Transport and Logistics.
During the visit, it was concluded that Latvia and Korea has many opportunities for cooperation in transport.
In a meeting with the Korean vice-minister for Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Korean side thanked Latvia for its support for Korea becoming a member at the Organisation for Co-operation between Railways, as well as underscored the significance of the upcoming Trans-Korean railway project that will ensure full South Korean integration in the Eurasian railway network.
Similarly, plans have been announced for Sino-Baltic ties and a possible connection between Rīga and the Chengdu municipality in China.
South Korea is one of the largest Asian trading partners for Latvia. Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists the main Korean exports to Latvia as tires, mobile phones and 'machineries', while Latvia mostly exports sawing lumber, plywood and peat to the country.
