On Monday the National Armed Forces (NAF) reported several sightings over and on the Baltic Sea within Latvia's Exclusive Economic Zone.
Air Policing jets on 16 NOV in international airspace above the Baltic Sea near LV border identified RU AF 1x Il-76, 1x An-26.

By Tuesday, yet more sightings had been added to the list.

Interestingly, NAF also said that with stormy weather causing problems in the Baltic, two Russian naval vessels had requested and been allowed to take refuge in Latvia's territorial waters.

Such a move is allowed in order to provide assistance to vessels in trouble, NAF pointed out.
