The committee that carried out the disciplinary proceedings concluded that the project evaluation was conducted faultily, the agreement with the limited partnership EXPO 2015 was poorly written, and payments had been made for works not yet finished. Other cases of misconduct were found out as well, all causing losses to the state.
The committee concluded that in many episodes the decisions made by state officials didn't accord to the legislative acts.
That's why two officials have been dismissed, one demoted for a year, and one reprimanded.

As some persons who allegedly committed unlawful acts while organizing Latvia's participation in EXPO 2015 don't work at the Ministry of Economics any more, the information has been handed to the authorities.
Latvia didn't participate in the EXPO 2015 exhibition because of delays within the project. The Latvian cabinet backed the suggestion of the Minister of Economics Dana Reizniece-Ozola to cancel the EXPO project.
Long after it was canceled, both the Ministry of Economics and LLC Expo 2015 publicly shifted blame to one another.
