In the second half of the night, an active cyclone will reach Latvia from the west, bringing rain to Kurzeme, but by morning the rain zone will also cover Zemgale and western Vidzeme. In the morning, the rain will ease in Kurzeme, but in the rest of the country, it will rain, with heavy downpours expected in many areas and thunderstorms in places, mainly in Latgale and the east of Vidzeme.
In the afternoon and evening, thunderstorms in Latgale and eastern Vidzeme may bring localized storms and hail is possible.
Winds may break trees and damage power lines and lighter structures. Drivers should be aware that driving conditions will become more difficult in heavy rain: visibility may be impaired, aquaplaning is possible and tree branches may be broken on the road due to wind during thunderstorms.
As the center of the cyclone moves across Latvia, wind direction will be variable, but even outside thunderstorms, winds will gust up to 10-15 meters per second at times.
The minimum air temperature at night will be +10 to +15 C, the maximum during the day will be +21 C to +25 degrees in the east, mainly in Latgale, where rain clouds will arrive later, but it will get much cooler in the evening.
In Riga, no precipitation is expected overnight, but it will rain in the morning and during the day, sometimes heavily. Moderate, gusty winds of variable direction. Minimum air temperature at night +13 to +14 C, maximum during the day +17 C to +18 C.
