On Friday a weather warning is in place due to high winds, with the western coast of Kurzeme, including the ports of Ventspils and Liepāja, in the zone likely to be most affected. Winds could reach speeds of 26 meters per second. It will be windy elsewhere too, though not as extreme.

The southwesterly wind on Saturday and Sunday will be gusty, reaching 10-15 meters per second, and again more powerful on the coast, but at night the winds will ease somewhat.
The weather will be mostly sunny, but at times there will be rain showers and the possibility of thunderstorms.
At night the temperature will drop to from +14 Celsius to + 19 C, while during the day it will be +20 C to + 25 C in mst of the country, Parts of Zemgale and southern Latgale will be a bit warmer, with temperatures of up to to +26 C or + 27 C.
At the beginning of the new week it is expected that it will get 1-3 degrees colder, and the weather will remain changeable and windy, but in the second half of the week the winds will subside and it will again become sunnier and warmer.
