The weather is determined by an anticyclone. Atmospheric pressure is 1018-1021 hectopascals at sea level.

Prolonged exposure to the sun from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. is not recommended due to intense ultraviolet radiation. People with particularly sensitive skin can burn in the sun after 10-15 minutes in the middle of the day without care.

The water temperature in the largest rivers and lakes, as well as on the sea coast is mostly from 16 to 20 degrees Celsius, according to the data of the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center.

The Disease Prevention and Control Department reiterated warnings to take care in the sun by using sunscreen, head coverings and other suitable clothing, and acting sensibly. As previously reported by LSM, the hot spell could last some time.
