Warm week but cooler Midsummer forecast for Latvia

It will be another warm summer week in Latvia, but next weekend's Midsummer celebrations will be a bit cooler, forecasters suggest.

After an overcast Monday, from Tuesday it will become sunnier with no rain is expected, and slowly rising air temperatures reaching +23 Celsius to + 27 C in the afternoon, with coastal areas a few degrees cooler as usual.

Wednesday and Thursday will follow a similar pattern, getting steadily warmer until parts of Latgale could touch +30 C on Friday and Saturday. parts+20 degrees offshore, and in the following days the air will heat up to +24 .. + 29 degrees, on Friday.

Saturday will see the arrival of cooler weather from the western coast, moving across the rest of the country through the course of the day.

Current forecasts for Līgo Day (June 23) and Jāņi (June 24) expect the temperature to be around +18 C to + 23 C, with some small rain showers possible, but in most parts of the country the festival will pass without precipitation.
