It will be a dry but cool-ish week in Latvia this week.

Monday will start with pleasant sunshine, but over the course of the afternoon clouds will gather and there could be rain showers, according to the latest forecasts.

A gentle northwesterly wind will blow and maximum air temperatures will range from +8 Celsius to +14 C in southern Kurzeme region, with region sitting at around +10 C.

On Tuesday it will get warmer for a while, when the temperature in most of the country will reach +14 C to + 17 C.

In the subsequent days however the maximum temperature will be between +8 C and + 13 C degrees.

Light frost is still possible at night, especially in Vidzeme, where night-time temperatures could fall just below freezing.

Despite occasional light rain showers and thunderstorms in the east, the week will be a dry one in general, with a high fire risk in forests - so please take special care if you are venturing into the great outdoors in addition to physical distancing measures.
