''We are currently in the research stage with the aim of ensuring the necessary arguments to include Rundale Palace on UNESCO's list of heritage sites in Latvia,'' she said, adding that this could be done in September of 2020.
One of the most popular tourism destinations in Latvia, Rundāle is a baroque palace, designed by Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli and built in the mid 1700s as the summer residence for the Duke of Courland in the plains of Zemgale.
It is still being restored, with the main works having concluded in 2015.
