Current UK ambassador writes Latvian travel guide

The United Kingdom's ambassador to Latvia, Paul Brummell, has written a new travel guide to the country for one of the best-known British travel guide publishers, reports Latvian Television (LTV).

Brummell, who has been the man in Rīga for the former European Union member state since July 2021, is no stranger to the travel guide genre, having previously penned guides for the Bradt publishing house to Kazakhstan and Romania's Transylvania region.

He has also written a history book about diplomatic gifts.

Speaking at the book launch in London, the author told LTV he wanted to encourage visitors to explore Latvia beyond the Rīga city limits and that he was amazed how much had changed since the last guide to Latvia was published in 2007.
