On Thursday, December 28, at 18.55 on LTV1 and REplay.lv the show "Cultural review of 2023" will retread the cultural events of the last 12 months.
On December 29 at 18:34 a special celebrity edition of the popular game show "Smart and smarter" will air.
On December 31 at 19:10 a "Review of the Year's Events" created by LTV News Service journalists will do the same for current affairs.
Also December 31, viewers of LTV1 will enjoy popular Latvian films for the whole family from 10:15, while at 12:00 a special musical advent service from Torņakalns Church is planned.
At 18:25 a special edition of "Latvijas sirdsdziesmas" will showcase retro popular songs with lots from the archives and the festive mood continues at 20:50 with the start of a "grandiose" New Year's show "Dream Team 2024", which will last into the New Year itself.
From 11:48 you will be able to follow the holiday speeches of the Prime Minister Evika Siliņa and President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs. At midnight, everyone is invited to join in singing the Latvian National Anthem.
On New Year's morning, January 1, at 6:03 a.m., you will have the opportunity to welcome the first sunrise of the year to the sounds of the organ together with Iveta Apkalna in a repeat of the extraordinary "Sunrise concert" that gathered hundreds of listeners on Dzintari beach in the middle of July.
At 12:15 the Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Concert will be broadcast live from the Austrian capital under conductor Christian Thielemann. This year's program will include a composition by Anton Bruckner for the first time, as well as the much loved waltzes and marches of Johann Strauss et al.
On January 1 at 12:55 LTV7 will review the previous year's sports events, with basketball and ice hockey memories sure to be to the fore.
For those in the mood for satire, on January 1 at 19:00 p.m., the program "Sketch news. Annual review" will show an irreverent summary of the year's events specially designed for a young audience.
