Take note – story published 2 years ago

Latvian beach volleyball players Tīna Graudiņa and Anastasija Kravčenoka lost the first game against USA's Kelly Claes and Sarah Sponcil.

The Latvian Olympic debutants were defeated with a result of 1: 2 (13:21, 21:16, 11:15).

Latvia is also represented in beach volleyball in Tokyo by Mārtiņš Pļaviņš and Edgars Točs, who were scheduled to play Sunday against the Czech team, but the game was canceled after one of the Czech players tested positive for Covid-19. It was unclear what the end result would be for Pļaviņš/Točs but organizers announced July 26 that the canceled game would count as an automatic win for the Latvian team.
