The main theme of the festival is "Life" – which is certainly a broad enough topic – which will be viewed from various different angles.
Much of this year's program is intended for an adult audience, but for children and families there will be three works revived from last year, when the festival was oriented towards children, the organizers have said.
In parallel with the performance program, the Festival center - a gathering place for visitors and artists - will be open throughout the festival weekend in the contemporary art space "Kurtuve". Training sessions of the Children and Youth Theater Institute for young industry professionals will be held in nearby Valmiermuiža, but the International summer school of short-term architecture and urban environment design will also return to Valmiera's urban environment this year after a short break.
