Swedish company significantly expands its Rīga operations

Swedish company Plockmatic opened a new facility October 17 in the Latvian capital, Rīga.

Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, Plockmatic Group has been involved with document finishing technology for over 50 years and Plockmatic operations in Rīga began in 2001. It provides document finishing solutions to the global digital print- and packaging industries.

The expansion of the firm's facility strengthens Latvia's role in advanced manufacturing in the Baltic region, said Jan Marstorp, CEO of Plockmatic Group, in a company release. 

"The new 10,000 m² production facility represents a major expansion for Plockmatic Group, increasing production capacity and operational efficiency while creating over 50 new jobs in the local economy. The strategic location near Riga Airport not only improves logistics but also positions Latvia as a key player in advanced manufacturing within the Baltic region. The modern facility offers enhanced employee comfort, demonstrating the company's commitment to sustainable growth and its ongoing support for the Latvian market," said the release.

"We’re excited to expand in Mārupe, growing our talented team and investing in the region's future. With more space and capacity, we can drive innovation and meet increasing global demand," said Arnis Irbens, Plant Manager at Plockmatic Riga.
