By reviewing budget expenses, the Finance Ministry has found an extra €50m that ministries will be able to use next year, Latvia's Finance Minister Dana Reizniece-Ozola told Latvian Television's "Rīta Panorāma" Tuesday.

The Finance Ministry audited the expenses of all the ministries with their full cooperation.

"We've found an extra €50m in the ministries' pockets," said Reizniece-Ozola.

The money came from adjusting accounts to the lower energy prices and cutting overlapping expenses.

According to the Reizniece-Ozola, the Education Ministry was among those with the greatest amount of extra funds.

The full report regarding the extra funds will be presented in late May, said the minister.
