Resort town Jūrmala warns of queues on entry

Take note – story published 2 years and 4 months ago

With the sunny weather and many seeking respite by the seaside near the capital, there are jams upon entry to Jūrmala city by the toll booths. The municipality asks drivers to purchase their entry passes electronically.

Drivers can purchase passes via the “jurmala.lv” portal, via “Mobilly”, “Europark” or “Citadele” applications, so as not to create congestion. The entry fee in Jurmala is EUR 2.

From mid-June this year, in order to reduce the number of accidental offenses entering Jūrmala without a pass, it is possible to pay the fee also on the day following entry, which can only be done on the Jūrmala website www.jurmala.lv.

The entry fee in the administrative area of the city of Jurmala has been in force since 1996. The penalty if the pass is not purchased is €50.
