Rīga Airport had substantial growth in passenger numbers in June

 Compared to June 2019, the number of passengers traveling by air has dropped by 28.0 %.

In June, 5 046 flights were made in total, which is 1.6 times more than a year ago.

Over the six months of this year the number of passengers arriving at and departing from Riga Airport accounted for 2 221.5 thousand, which is 1 815.7 thousand passengers or 5.5 times more than during the corresponding period of 2021 and 68.4 % more than during the first six months of 2020, but 37.5 % fewer than over the corresponding period of 2019.

In June 2022, the total volume of freight and mail loaded and unloaded¹ at the airport comprised 1.5 thousand tonnes, which is the same as registered in May and 32.5 % fewer than in June 2021.

In June, 0.6 thousand tonnes of freight and mail were unloaded at the airport (52.6 % fewer than in June 2021) and 0.9 thousand tonnes were loaded (4.9 % fewer).
