Compared to August 2019, the number of passengers has dropped by 53%.
In the annual breakdown, the number of passengers in the first eight months of this year has dropped by 79% as compared to 2019, and by 36% as compared to 2020.
The majority or 60% of passengers in August were carried by the national airline airBaltic, 18% – by the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair and 7% – by Wizz Air. Of the 87 destinations offered by Riga Airport in August, London, Tallinn and Kiev were the most popular travel destinations.
