At the end of March, flights from Riga to Amsterdam will be launched by the Dutch airline Transavia Airlines C.V., according to the Rīga International Airport's information February 4.

Transavia will thus become the 14th airline to offer passenger flights from Latvia this year. Transavia is scheduled to fly three times a week on the Rīga–Amsterdam route. The first flight to Amsterdam is scheduled for March 31, and ticket sales on flights have already started.

“Transavia flights from Riga to Amsterdam will help Riga strengthen its direct connection to one of Europe's most demanded transit airports, which is a benefit for passenger comfort and at the same time strengthens the benefits of our airport in the Baltic and Northern Europe region,” said Laila Odiņa, Chairman of the Riga Board.

Transavia Airlines C.V. is a Dutch low-cost airline that is part of the Air France–KLM group.

In 2021, Amsterdam was the fifth most popular destination from Riga, with 85 thousand passengers transported on the route last year, or 4% of the total number of passengers.
