September 28 and 29 will see the annual Rīga Conference taking place at the Latvian National Library. A range of topics from the future direction of the European Union to plans for collective defense will be under discussion. You can watch a livestream of the proceedings here on LSM and at the official conference website.
The conference, organised by the Latvian Transatlantic Organisation in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence, has been shaping the foreign policy debate in the Baltic Sea region since 2006.
President Raimonds Vējonis got proceedings underway with a speech in which he reflected on the tides of history and finished with a tribute to the late Senator John McCain.
