Rīga Conference to take place in October

The annual Rīga Conference geopolitical talking shop will take place again later this month, with the main event on October 20-21 preceded by the Future Leaders Forum on October 18-19.

This will be the 17th year of the Rīga Conference, which is organized jointly by the Latvian Transatlantic Organisation, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"We have laid out the following landmarks in our conference scape: the first and foremost – the empowering women (sic): leading through turbulent times of war and the future of European security in the geopolitically contested world. Then, importantly, the development and growth of NATO," say organizers in advance materials.

"The Rīga Conference 2023 will welcome 350 registered participants in the National Library of Latvia, as well as 500 registered participants online. The event will be followed closely by a substantial number of viewers on social media platforms from around the globe," they say.

Some of the better-known speakers populating the various panels include EU Commissioner Thierry Breton, Russian opposition activist Mikhail Khodorkovsky and journalists Edward Lucas and Mark Galeotti.

More information about the agenda and speakers is available here: www.rigaconference.lv. LSM will provide live coverage of the conference.
