Vejonis revealed Tuesday morning he will meet the National Alliance, the Greens and Farmers' Union and the Unity party during a busy day in which he also meets various diplomatic representatives plus the head of the Orthodox church in Latvia, Metropolitan Alexander.
But with a gala concert to attend in the evening to celebrate the 80th birthday of legendary Latvian musician and songwriter Raimonds Pauls, it now seems unlikely Vejonis will announce his Prime Ministerial nominee on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the three parties show no sign of a meeting of minds with Unity's Karlis Sadurskis described as unacceptable by the Greens and Farmers.
By the same token, the Greens and Farmers nominee Maris Kucinskis is unacceptable to Unity.
The National Alliance has not nominated its own candidate but says it is disappointed with the other choices.
Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma resigned on December 7th. Vejonis gave the parties until the end of 2015 to present their candidates.
None of them managed to do so.
The process continues.
