Watch: Owner wakes up to find burglar and cops in his apartment

In the late hours of June 12, locals at the Imanta suburb called the police after hearing noises and the light went out inside their stairwell.

The Riga Municipal police arrived at the scene and saw a man wearing no shoes enter an apartment. He claimed that he was a tenant there.

As the police asked him to produce the keys to the apartment or his rental agreement, the man became hesitant.

It is then that the real owner made a spectacular appearance, apparently disturbed by the commotion and wearing just a pair of blue-and-white checkered shorts.

The burglar had entered the apartment while the owner was sleeping. He had already stolen the owner's wallet.

The unscrupulous visitor was then handed to the State Police.
