From the Ādaži airfield, Air Force pilots with "Tarragon" planes made a flight to the aviation base of the National Armed Forces, at Lielvārde, where the new aircraft will be permanently stationed.
The small, light aircraft will be used for pilot and crew training, as well as for maintaining qualifications and ensuring operational tasks.
The Tarragon is a two-seater plane with a top speed of 370 kilometers per hour, a range of 1,300 km and a ceiling of 3,500 meters. It can operate from very small airstrips with a landing distance on asphalt surfaces of just 150 meters, and a minimum take-off distance of 225 meters. Both wingspan and plane length are comfortably under 8 meters.
