For the first time, secondary school graduates also took centralized exams, and high school students were able to write exams at different degrees of difficulty.
Three of the exams were taken online and not without problems. Servers also experienced problems and, for example, last week, 200 students initially failed to connect to the culture and art exam. They could start doing their tasks later.
This is the year when the State Center for Educational Content (VISC) is trying to understand what the readiness to move forward with online exams is.
"A lot of new things in this exam session. And one is, of course, digitization, which includes not only three online challenges but also the organization of processes in the information system. In any case, the transition to online exams was planned gradually. When the exams end, all these processes will be critically evaluated to understand how to proceed next year.
"Leave these three online exams? Increase their numbers? We will [be able to say] this after the assessment," said VISC spokeswoman Liene Bērziņa.
The results of the centralized exams for secondary school graduates will be known as early as this Wednesday, June 21. But the high schoolers will have to wait a little longer.
