Of 22,489 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 22.6% were positive. The 14-day cumulative morbidity rate per 100,000 population jumped from 1570.9 Tuesday to 1742.6 Wednesday.
Seventeen more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. All victims were aged 50 or over and six were fully vaccinated.
Wednesday data from the National Health Service show 654 patients being treated in hospital with 75 patients admitted and 56 discharged during the last 24 hours. 80 patients are displaying serious symptoms.

In the other Baltic states, Estonia had 315 hospitalized patients, 3,519 new cases and 3 deaths confirmed during the last 24 hours while Lithuania hit another record high with 6,234 cases.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme. All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
