Latvia ready to boost vaccination pace even further

Take note – story published 2 years ago

In recent weeks, vaccination goals have been reached in Latvia – over 100,000 jabs per week. There is capacity and willingness to increase the volume further, Ieva Stūre, representative of Vaccination Project department, told Latvian Television May 28.

"We are prepared to increase the pace, because the vaccine supplies will be even larger. Everything depends on the population now,” said Stūre.

Deliveries of all vaccine manufacturers are planned in the near future, including deliveries from AstraZeneca that will provide all doses for second-dose jabs.

Asked about the 'senior hour' where between 9 and 10 in the morning seniors can come to vaccination centers without application, Stūre said it was changing. On some days, there are a lot of seniors, on some there are none at all. However, workplace collective vaccinations are greatly demanded.
