Latvian Health Minister: lockdown has brought the expected results

Take note – story published 2 years ago

On Monday, November 15, the Minister of Health Daniels Pavļuts told Latvian Television that the lockdown had brought results, as the morbidity curve has turned downward.

Asked about the government's future plans in the direction of tighter or lighter restrictions, Pavļuts said that everything was in the hands of people. If people gather a lot during the holidays and the Covid-19 morbidity curve turns upward, the limits may need to be tightened again.

"If we are wise, serious additional restrictions are not likely to be introduced," said Pavļuts.

“We have to remember that the virus has not been defeated. Is it going to surprise us? We don't know that. It depends on our behavior whether we can remain in the mode of light restrictions,” said the Health Minister.
