This means that more and more blood donors have already had this disease.
Last year from August to December, Covid-19 antibodies in blood were found in 312 cases, or 1.54 percent of samples. The number significantly increased starting October. In the first month of this year until 27 January, antibodies were found in another 267 samples, representing approximately 9 per cent of the total.
Egita Pole said: "There are individual cases where people are surprised that they have these antibodies. There are often cases where there are no signs of illness and there are these antibodies (..). At the moment, we have been given funding to have us carry out this [antibody test] until the beginning of July. Looking at how this resistance develops in our societies, it could be an interesting observation of how this dynamic with antibodies will develop, i.e., the increase in infection will stall and then what this antibody situation will be."
