The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 119,750.
Of 3,578 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 10.6% were positive, up sharply on the 6.4% rate the day before. 4% is regarded as the threshold at which the virus is spreading in an uncontrolled manner.
The 14-day cumulative infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants rose further from 438.9 Saturday to 441.2 Sunday. Anything over 200 is classed as a "very high risk" pandemic situation under the government's four-stage "traffic light" system.
