Vaccination proportion is highest among health workers in Latvia

Data from the National Health Service's (NVD) Vaccination project department shows that the highest percentage of vaccinated people are found in the health worker population, the department said July 28.

84% of health workers have been vaccinated against Covid-19 with at least one dose, the National Health Service (NVD) data show.

The percentage of vaccinated employees and customers of social care centers amounts to 72%.  The third-highest percentage is among employees of educational establishments - 60%. 55.35% of chronic illness patients have been vaccinated.

At least 15% of teens aged 12-15 have received at least one shot, while the figure is 30% among teens aged 16-17.

At least one shot against Covid-19 has been received by the population in the following age groups:

  • 18 to 29 years – 43%,
  • 30 to 39 years: 43%,
  • 40 to 49 years – 44%,
  • 50 to 59 years – 45%
  • 60 to 69 years – 50%
  • 70 to 79 years – 58%
  • 80 to 89 years - 48%
  • 90 and over – 30%.

Vaccination against Covid-19 in Latvia is free of charge. The vaccination service is provided by general practitioners, medical establishments, large-scale vaccination centers, vaccination points in malls and in pop-up vaccination stations.
