Latvia's armed forces continued to monitor the country's land, air and sea borders over the weekend, spotting a Russian naval vessel being towed by a tug on August 2 around 9 kilometers from Latvian territorial waters.

Two days earlier, a Russian navy corvette ventured lightly closer, coming within 7 km of Latvia's territorial waters.
