Condolences offered after Tehran plane disaster

Latvian officials were among those offering condolences to the families of the dead following an airline disaster near Tehran, Iran on January 8.

176 people are believed to have lost their lives when a Ukrainian passenger jet crashed shortly after take-off from the Iranian capital en route to Kyiv.  

Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš and Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs both offered their thoughts to those affected by the tragedy.
