The Customs Police of the Latvian State Revenue Service (VID) has caught two residents of Estonian with about a kilogram of cocaine in their car in October this year, the VID told BNS Friday.
After receiving information about possible drug trafficking, the Customs Police officers stopped a Nissan car with Estonian plates at the Ainaži checkpoint on the Latvian-Estonian border.
Altogether 821 grams of cocaine were found in the car.
There were two people in the car – a 46-year-old man, who is a non-citizen of Estonia, and a 25-year-old Estonian woman. Criminal proceedings have been started, and the man has been put behind bars.
