None injured in traffic accidents on November 26

On Thursday the traffic police organized a pan-Baltic raid, and the day was also remarkable in that no one was injured in a traffic accident yesterday in Latvia, according to a State Police entry on Facebook.

A total of 6761 vehicles were checked across all Latvia, and a total of 330 protocols were formed for using non-roadworthy tires or not using seat belts or child car seats.

The last time when no people were injured in traffic accidents was two years ago. Though 74 accidents did happen yesterday, only vehicles were damaged and in one case a wild animal sustained injuries.

Police were quick to note the possible connection between this happy statistic and the widely-covered raid.
