Police on high alert on Latvia's roads during Easter holidays

Police will be on high alert maintaining order on Latvia's roads over the Easter Holidays, LETA was told by State Police spokeswoman Simona Grāvīte.

Officers intend to stop and inspect many automobiles, to check whether drivers are not under the influence of alcohol.

The State Police say that police will be on high alert throughout the country.

Latvia is to observe a long holiday from April 19 through April 21.
