On Saturday night the wind will subside, the sky will be mostly clear, the temperature will drop sharply and reach -7 to -12 degrees Celsius in the morning hours, -2 C to - 6 C on the coast.
Saturday will start sunny, but in the afternoon it will be cloudy. There will be no rainfall or snow. Temperatures in most parts of the country will rise to a few degrees above zero.
Sunday the weather will continue to deteriorate, with snow and blizzard expected during the night throughout Latvia, mainly in Vidzeme and Latgale. Several centimeters of snow will form. West, northwest winds on the coast will reach 20-24 meters per second, elsewhere in the country 14-19 meters per second. Night temperature will be around 0 C to -5 C, during the day only a couple degrees warmer.
Temperatures will fall further early next week, the coldest weather is expected on Tuesday morning, when temperatures in the east of the country will reach -10 C to -15 C, gradually getting warmer in the second half of the week.
