Protective masks are one of the most vivid visual documents of time of the pandemic. About two hundred artists have been inspired by the mask, and their works have been compiled at the gallery "Istaba". Among the exhibits are real masks and themed paintings, sculptures and other forms of expression which document in a witty way the observations and feelings of the artists at this time.
Linda Lūce, artist and owner of the gallery, has spoken to about 300 artists and despite the short two-week deadline the response has been great, including authors from Australia, Canada and Germany.
"The subject was determined by the era. These works highlight the time," said Lūce.
The exhibition will open on Thursday, May 28, and will remain on site throughout June. The works will be regularly published on Instagram and Facebook.
