According to the City Council, it is planned that single travel tickets for public transport will only be purchased in advance and the sale of tickets with the driver will only be kept on the bus route no. 22 which goes to the airport.
Such changes are intended to allow the driver to pay attention to safe driving. Such ticket sales are not profitable and are not in line with epidemiologically safe practices.
It is currently possible to purchase tickets at more than 400 locations in the capital. An electronic QR ticket can be purchased on the Rīgas Satiksme and Mobilly apps.
