The Minister did not reveal exactly what Latvia will send to Ukrainians.
"We don't consider sending soldiers to Ukraine. We know what we will give to Ukrainians, but I will say it exactly when these planes land in Ukraine," said Pabriks.
“We will be willing to deliver both lethal and nonlethal items. This applies to all three Baltic States. We're not the only ones. I regret very much that we have separate European countries which, for various reasons, are not prepared to do so. I think it's not right,” the defense minister says.
“There are no direct threats to the Latvian State at the moment. We don't see them. But if something more active is going to start - God forbid, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, of course, we have to count on different kinds of additional challenges throughout the European region. It is absolutely clear.”
In the context of the continuing tense situation, the West continues its consultations and is pursuing diplomatic efforts to ease tensions.
