As of January 1, 2024, all medical treatment institutions, regardless of whether laboratory examinations have been paid from the State budget, the resources of the patient, or insurer, will have obligations to provide the results of laboratory examinations on the e-health portal. Both doctors and the patient will be able to view them themselves. The Ministry of Health explains that this will reduce the burden of unjustified re-examinations and unnecessary repeated visits to the doctor, thus saving State budget resources.
Also, as of January, the functionality of the new cancer patient card will be ensured for medical treatment institutions in eHealth.
To facilitate the submission of an opinion for the receipt of technical aid to the relevant institutions, from January 1, 2024, medical treatment institutions will be provided with the possibility to prepare it electronically in e-health. In order for medical treatment institutions to prepare for changes, the referred-to requirement shall be determined as mandatory from January 1,2025.
These changes are expected to reduce red tape and improve the exchange of information between responsible authorities.
