Fatality in collision between Polish, German and Latvian vehicles

On Wednesday morning Polish and German microbuses and a Latvian passenger car collided on the Riga-Bauska highway, police said. 

One person was killed and six others sustained injuries in the accident.

The police established that the minibus with Polish license plates had driven into the opposite lane, crashing with two other vehicles, said State Police representative Dairis Anucins.

The Polish minibus collided with another minibus that had German license plates, and a Volvo car with Latvian license plates. The driver of the passenger car, aged 50, was killed in the accident.

Representatives of the Emergency Medical Service confirmed that one person was killed in the accident, five had severe injuries and one person sustained moderate injuries. A 16-year old boy is among the injured.
