Latvians happier this year

In late 2015, 70% of Latvians said they're happy, as opposed to 59% in 2014. People's sense of happiness in their family has increased as well, Latvian Television reported the findings of the Amigo Happiness Index Wednesday. 

The happiest Latvians live in large families of at least five people, and people with children in their care are happier than those without children or whose children have grown up.

While old, divorced, and widowed people are the unhappiest.

Latvians report being happier in their childhood (76%) versus the current 70% for adults.

The Amigo Happiness Index was measured in December 2015 in 1,000 direct interviews across Latvia.
