Frosts in most of Latvia are expected as early as Wednesday morning, when the air temperature will be within -2 C to +2 C, warmer in Kurzeme and on the coast.
The harshest frosts are expected overnight this week for Thursday, when temperatures will slide to -4 C in Vidzeme and Latgale, around zero in Zemgale and Rīga, and +1 C to +4 C in Kurzeme.
Thursday afternoon temperature will be within +7 to +12 C.
The holidays will be sunny but gusty northwest, northerly winds will blow in the afternoons. Overnight temperatures -1 C to +5 C, but temperatures will reach +10 C to +15 C in the afternoons, cooler on the coast.
It will gradually get warmer next week, but a small frost is still expected in places at the start of the week.
