Mid-week thaw followed by snow

Monday snows in Kurzeme (western Latvia) will be followed by more on Tuesday night with a snow blanket of 10 cm to cover the earth.

Temperatures across the country on the night to Tuesday will be at -3..-8C, and 0..-2C in Kurzeme. Tuesday will be the week's sunniest day with few clouds and air temperatures of +1..-4C.

On the night to Wednesday the freeze in the country's eastern regions will reach -5..-10C while Kurzeme will be engulfed in warm air masses bringing a thaw that will on Wednesday encompass the whole of Latvia, which will see temperatures of +1..+7C.

On Thursday the thaw will continue but by the weekend temperatures will again drop to about -10C, hovering around zero degrees only in the coastal regions.
