Latvian animation 'My Favorite War' has made it on the Animated feature film eligibility list for Academy Awards, the producers said February 2.

The next step - shortlist for nominations - will take place March 5 to 10. 'My Favorite War' has been included among 27 other animation features.

Ilze Burkovska-Jakobsena's  animation has already won a prize at the Annecy festival in France.

"My Favorite War" is an animated autobiographical story about growing up in the absurd time from the 1970s to restoration of Latvia's independence in 1991. In the film, animation – the heroine's memories and fantasies of strange events – are combined with documentary frames, such as scenes from the Baltic Way.
