Sneak peek in Riga Cathedral cracks and corners

Take note – story published 3 years ago

After three months of silence, on Saturday, June 6, Riga Dome will open its doors with the event Musical Evening Walk in Riga Cathedral, Latvian Radio reported on June 4.

The event will take place every Saturday in June from 20:00 to 22:00. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of the Cathedral and look into places of the church normally hidden from view, such as the organ motor room.

The event will occasionally be accompanied by organ music and visitors will be offered to climb the stair to the organ balcony and observe the work of the organist close-up.

Musical director of Riga Cathedral, organist Aigars Reinis said: "With these musical evening walks we want to open doors beyond which people don't get every day and don't know what treasures we hold here."

Aigars Reinis says that the idea of the event is to be closer to the visitors and the audience. In addition, because of the large area, it is possible to keep the distance and enjoy the magic of the environment.

Ticket price is 10 EUR. Tickets are available for purchase on bilesuparadize.lv and in Ticket Office of Riga Cathedral.
