Psychedelic rock, jazz, and modern art in store for this weekend.

Psychedelic rock in Rīga (The Bad Tones + Spāre)

Spāre and psych-rock gurus The Bad Tones will be performing Saturday at the OneOne club in Riga. They're all young, but experienced artists, and the show promises to be nothing short of a blast.

Jazz show in Alūksne

Also Saturday the Alūksne Culture Centre will hold the After Midnight jazz show.

Pianist Andrejs Osokins, singer Katrina Gupalo, choreographer and dancer Gabija Birina, percussionist Elvijs Endelis and video artist Janis Romanovskis will reveal a nocturnal adventure on the background of live versions of Cole Porter, Ray Charles, Marilyn Monroe, Nina Simone, Julie London and Ella Fitzgerald’s melodies

Modern art

The self-explanatory Recent acquisitions of the Latvian National Museum of Art is on show at the Arsenāls Fine Arts Museum. It's a delightful contemporary art exhibition featuring Latvian 21st century art and a nice crowning touch for your day spent in Old Riga.
