Latvian best-selling novel "Soviet Milk/Mātes piens" by Nora Ikstena, in its Swedish translation (Modersmjölken), ranked sixth in Sweden. The Swedish translation "Kiosken" of Anete Melece's children's book "The Kiosk" is nominated for the Peter Pan Prize in Sweden, Latvian Literature said.
Online publishing magazine Publishing Trends has published a list of fiction international bestsellers from 6 countries....

"Seeing our literature being acclaimed internationally, especially during the pandemic, is very heartwarming. Although it is a tough time for culture, (..) people in the world have not stopped reading," said Latvian Literature spokeswoman Juta Pīrāga.
Nora Ikstena's novel, Soviet Milk, came out in 2020 under the auspices of the Swedish publishing company Tranan. The novel was translated into Swedish by the poet and translator Juris Kronbergs. The novel has already come out in 15 different languages and is expected to be published soon in the Polish, Norwegian and Spanish languages.
Anete Melece's children's book The Kiosk has come out in 9 languages and is scheduled to come out in more languages this year. It has also been translated into Swedish by Juris Kronbergs and published in Sweden by Lilla Piratförlaget.
